Flooded Chennai Tamil Nadu – Help People Mutually

Hello my dear readers and friends,

Please read this article for heaven’s sake! A humble request…

This is no nonsense promotional blog post.

I’m Anoop, the author of the blog People and Hearts, who is from Chennai, India. You guys would have read or heard about Chennai and its dreaded floods in the media by now.

I’m a victim of this flood. I have witnessed and still witnessing the sufferings of people affected by the Floods in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

Flood_Chennai_People_Hearts

Flooded Chennai and Tamil Nadu –

I’m writing on behalf of the people who are crying, craving and begging for food, shelter, clothes and blankets. The list of people includes pregnant women, infants, children, old people and many more. These people have few necessities. I will list it down.

  • Pregnant women – Thousands of pregnant women are stuck up in many houses who are unable to move out and are struggling for food. Only few have been able to be rescued by the Indian Air Force by helicopters and other NGO’s. You are now able to understand it better now.
  • Hungry children who have lost their school textbooks and clothes –  Yes, these children have lost their textbooks, clothes and all learning aids. They are made to wait and crave for food.
  • Crying elderly people – Why do they have to undergo all these cruelties.
  • Sorrowful mothers who are unable to feed milk to their children – This is really embarrassing and unfortunate.
  • People begging for food – These people who are begging for food today had cars and lived in a fully furnished AC apartment with luxury. Yes, they have lost their passports and credit cards too in the floods. They have only one pair of dress that they are wearing now. They left everything inside their home and walked onto the streets to get food for them as well as for their family. There are people who are waiting in the terrace of their homes expecting people will drop food packets to them.
  • People begging for clothes – You know how to hide your body and the value of a dress. These people need clothes to wear today because their clothes were lost in the floods. And trust me they are begging when rescuers are coming to help them.
  • People thanking NGO’s and rescue volunteers – The struggling people are considering the NGO’s and volunteers as the sons and daughters of the God. Yes, they are very happy and thankful to these helping benevolent hearts.

There are so many people out there in this world. The NGO’s and rescue team can’t reach out to all the people out there. But we can. If we help each other mutually with what we have, we can bring a great relief for the ailing wounds.

Yes we can make this happen. Please do your small help that can be a great relief for the needy ones.

Please try to help each other mutually.

I hope this article would have made you to think that you are a human being. Yes I believe that my words would do some magic inside you.

Lessons Learned from Chennai Floods

These words are coming out of me at the time of an ongoing natural disaster in Chennai, India. Life has changed for many people in the last few days when Chennai has been flooded badly.

I have seen a large number of people with benevolent hearts who have come up to offer their help to the needy. They are not people with great super powers. They are normal people just like you and me. But they are the ones who make the difference.

You might be rich and have all the fortunes to buy happiness. But when the rains have washed away all your money and occupied your home, you are left with nothing. Only people can help you. Not the money and your fortunes.

There are people with good hearts to help the struggling ones who they know nothing about. Good people too exist in this world. That’s why still the Earth is a nice place to live on.

At the same time, there are people with wicked ideas who are ready to utilize the situation. When people are suffering for food and shelter, some shopkeepers sell milk, drinking water and food for skyrocketing prices. They have no mercy on the struggling people.

The good and ugly side of the city and people is seen here.

But for the few good ones, people still hope for a better day soon.

Find the time and the heart to help people, at least during a natural disaster.

I’m the Voice

I’m the voice…
I’m born as the voice…

The voice of the unspoken words…
The voice of the dying soldiers…
The voice of the rolling tears…
The voice of hungry children…
The voice of traumatized victims…
The voice of aching people…
The voice of the dead…

The voice of falling trees…
The voice of the dying mother nature…
The voice of life and death…
The voice of extinct species…
The voice of dried rivers…
The voice of melting icebergs…
The voice of the depleting ozone layer…

The voice of a relationship…
The voice of the people…
The voice of an orphan…
The voice of love…

The voice of the unseen…
The voice of the unheard…
The voice of the untouched…
The voice of the unexplored…
The voice of infinity…
The voice of mystery….
The voice of beauty…
The voice of appreciation…
The voice of art…
The voice of lust…
The voice of crime…
The voice of revenge…
The voice of novels…
The voice of music…
The voice of photography…
The voice of cinema…

The voice of a failed artist…
The voice of a struggling performer…
The voice of the common man…
The voice of the universe…
The voice of hope…
The voice of freedom…
The voice of passion…
The voice of expression…
The voice of anything that the heart can relate to…

Yes, I’m the voice…
And my voice invokes life…
And my voice is born to express…

Yes, I’m a Writer….

Selfie of the Moon with the Coconut Trees

image

Playing like a child, the moon giggles,
Crawling like an ant on a mission, the moon reaches the gloomy coconut trees.
Pretending as asleep like a lazy dog, the trees act,
Lying on the blue skies like a cloud, the trees practice silence.

Touching with eagerness like a menacing kitten,
The moon pulled the leaves of the lazy trees,
Reacting like a thief who was caught red-handed,
The coconut trees woke up laughing with the moon.

Lifting the moon like a toddler,
The coconut trees played hide and seek with the moon,
Holding the moon on their shoulders like a hero,
The coconut trees and the moon posed for a selfie.

Smoky Greenery – A Result of Pollution

Smoky Greenery – A Result of Pollution. Photo Credits: ©People and Hearts

Nature has lost its real color,
As the greenery imitates a shadow of pollution,
Pouring the acid of destruction onto the greenery,
Mother nature is seen smoking a pipe of death.

Mankind continues its guiltless atrocity,
As the mother nature sheds its tears in vain,
Cremating the nature in its on birthplace,
The greenery lives on as a smoky greenery…

Words are my footprints to the world
– Anoop © People and Hearts

Just like you, I’m here for a purpose. I’m just an ordinary human being. But…

But I’m one among you who can make a big difference.
I can bring about a change that you have never thought about.
I can open up new avenues that you were aspiring for.
I can make you believe in yourself beyond anything on this universe.
I can make you cry and smile in a few seconds.
I can invoke emotions that you were hiding inside your heart.
I can change the world.
I can make you a human being with emotions.
I can inspire you.

But how is that all possible?

Well, you have the answer now. You have read something now. Yes, these are my words. My words are the footprints that I’m creating as a writer to make all this possible.

I believe in my words that I create as they contain emotions in them. My words are the diverse emotions of millions of human beings. I’m writing these words for you, for me and for us. It’s for a collective growth and evolution.

To make a better world. To inspire the world. To make the world smile. To bring in a better change. Yes, I’m a writer and I love being a writer. I love writing for people. I love it when people in different corners of the world can feel the significance of words. That is the biggest satisfaction I get as a writer.

I’m pouring out my words through my fingers, as my words are my footprints for the world.

Creativity is Sheer Madness

Creativity is Sheer Madness – Anoop © People and Hearts

Have you ever entered into the world of ‘Creative‘ people? Have you ever thought how these creative people think? Well, I’ll take you for a walk into the world of creative people…

STATUTORY WARNING: This is not for those lazy bums who don’t enjoy and appreciate fun, madness and creativity. This is also not for those serious faces who don’t enjoy nature. This is also not for those people who follow the herd blindly.

If you have the patience and sensibility to think like a human being, then read on….

‘Creativity’ is a special talent or skill through which something new, unique and refreshing is created. It’s not blind copying but an art of creating something that is worth enough to talk about!

An enchanting music or song, a haunting poem or painting, a unique photo, a reverberating speech or idea, or anything unique is a wonderful creation by the rare breed called creative minds. These creative minds need a fuel, mood, or an environment to trigger creativity. The catalyst for these creative minds is sheer ‘Madness‘.

Creative people love madness. They love to explore the unknown horizons that others fear to attempt. They break the conventional rules and they are unorthodox. A fluid called ‘Madness‘ runs through their veins to make them different from others.

Creative people view a crazy world through ‘Madness‘. They are able to think out-of-the-box and create magic through their works.

Here are a few quotes about madness and creativity:

“No great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness.” ― Aristotle

“Madness in great ones must not unwatched go.” ― William Shakespeare, Hamlet

“The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person.” — Frank Barron

“It is only through mystery and madness that the soul is revealed” ― Thomas Moore

“Madness is the acme of intelligence.” – Naguib Mahfouz

“Madness need not be all breakdown. It may also be break-through.”  — R. D. Laing

“If at first the idea is not totally absurd then there is no hope for it.” — Albert Einstein

“The extreme limit of wisdom–that is what the public calls madness.” — Jean Cocteau

“A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free.” — Nikos Kazantzakis

“Madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push.” — The Joker — The Dark Knight

This is the sheer brilliance of madness – it makes an ordinary person ‘Creative‘.

“A pinch of madness, when combined with creativity could produce sheer magic.”— Anoop ©People and Hearts

Summing it up, creativity needs a bit of madness. So be imaginative and creative. Enjoy madness!

Hugging the Tree and Listening to its Heartbeats – Nature Awareness Campaign

When I was a kid, I came running to you,
My heart said that you are not a mere tree,
So I hugged you like my best friend,
I placed my ears on your chest,
I started to feel that you too have a life,
I began to listen to your heartbeats,
I understood your feelings,
You said to me that I must protect you.

Even after years, I still come running to you,
With the childish innocence intact,
I still hug you like my best friend,
I still place my ears on your chest,
I still feel that you too have a life,
I still listen to your heartbeats,
You are here with me as ever before,
I’ve kept my promise that I gave you,
I’m still protecting you like my best friend.

 Save Trees and Save Nature…

This post is written to create an awareness among people to save trees and nature. Let this childish innocence pave the way for saving trees and nature.

You don’t need a mirror to reflect. Reflections are here, there, everywhere and forever. Reflections are omnipresent!

Reflections have their own colors and layers that define different moods. Reflections are complex!

People reflect happiness with their smile. Couples reflect love with their eyes.  Reflections are captivating!

Your words reflect what your mind thinks. Your thoughts are the powerful reflections of what you feel about yourself, others and life. Reflections are self-driven!

Memories are the reflections of your past that you treasure and detest.  Reflections are infectious!

Reflections emerge even from a pool of water.

What you see or believe  is not always true. So watch closely. Reflections are deceptive!

Purple Shaded Sky Turned Drowsy

Purple Sky Turned Drowsy

Purple Sky Turned Drowsy (Photo Credits: Anoop © People and Hearts)

When bottled up emotions burst onto the colorless wall,
Eyes perceived the change of colors on the wall.
When the scattered emotions was born as a cocktail of colors,
Heart recognized the lost shades of each color.

When tears rolled from the defeated eyes,
The defenseless wall portrayed a purple shaded sky,
When the hands touched the feeble wall,
The purple shaded sky turned drowsy.

Taking a Break to Return Afresh

Following a daily routine of work and activities for a month without a break makes people bored and tired. They lose interest in what they are doing as it becomes mechanical. So to fix this issue, they need to take a break.

Take a break to return afresh

While taking a break, people should make sure that they do those things that make them happy and feel relaxed. Staying away from the usual activities will be a good idea. Trying to get involved in new activities and hobbies could be a real stress buster. In that way, people are not only easing themselves but also finding new interests and hobbies. Here are a few activities that people could give a try:

  • Talk to people and interact more
  • Find a silent place and spend time for yourself alone
  • Play with kids
  • Find new music and listen to good music
  • Spend time for reading either books or from online
  • Sleep well
  • Explore places in your town or city
  • Try new foods and recipes
  • Eat chocolates
  • Eat healthy food and go for shopping
  • Hit the gym or do workouts
  • Play outdoor games
  • Go out and take photos
  • Go trekking
  • Enjoy the nature
  • Watch the moonlight
  • Sing songs that you love
  • Anything that people are comfortable doing and staying happy

The duration of the break could be hours or days. Whatever is the duration of the break. When you feel better and the mind is fresh, then return back to the routine activities.

It is always good to take a break. It gives people a clear and cool mind to start things again afresh.

When the Evening Sun Seduced Him

When the evening sun seduced him

When the evening sun seduced him. (Photo Credits – Binu Vijayan)

He came running like a drunken crab erasing the footmarks left by wandering people at the beach. The sands took the shape of an island that was destroyed by a man-made tsunami. He was the creator of this act of destruction.

After running hurriedly, he stopped at the seashore as the inviting waves hit his face. He was on his knees in no time. Unbuttoning his shirts, he looked at the feminine sun. The evening sun was too tempting for him for which he couldn’t resist it.

There was an undefinable beauty in the evening sun who was about to close her eyes in minutes. The evening sun seduced him to unbutton his shirts and look at her in awe.

"Here I'm waiting for you", he said.

Song of the Pregnant Lady

It is tough to live a life like this woman. Carrying a child on her left arm and an unborn child, the lady is singing.

She sings for a living. She sings for feeding her unborn child. She sings for feeding her another child. She sings for feeding herself and her husband. Yes! She is pregnant!

She is tired. The rushing sound of the moving train is overshadowing her song. Amidst all these difficulties, she sings and makes a living. The song describes the pain and struggle she endures.

It is tough being a woman. She earns respect.

The song of the pregnant lady…

Talking to the Butterfly

Early in the morning, I found you kissing the flowers,
So passionate, so intense;
It never appeared that you were drinking nectar.

Allow me to touch you with a watery feather,
Allow me to look into your eyes slowly,
Allow me to talk to you in a feeble voice.

I spent my childhood running behind you,
I wished to touch you and kiss you,
I wished to talk to you and be friends with you.

But you kept flying away from me,
You thought that I was scary,
You never gave me a chance.

Allow me to enter your heart like a smiling kid,
Allow me to touch your delicate eyelashes with mine,
Allow me talk to you like your childhood friend.

Speak Up and Open Your Thoughts to the Right People

Speak up and open your thoughts to the right people. Be expressive.

Speak up and open your thoughts to the right people. Be expressive.

Why don’t we try to be a bit expressive? Why don’t we try to speak our mind to the people we really know? Why don’t we start a conversation with the right people to get a new direction in our lives?

Man is known to be a Social Animal. Human beings are gifted with the ability to speak. They can connect with their fellow beings through communication. But are we communicating with people, really? Really?

Domestic animals such as cats and dogs are better at communicating with people rather than humans. Pets convey their true feelings to people by their own languages. So where have we failed in communicating with the people we know.

Open up people. Open your mind, heart and mouth. Speak up. Speak out what you really feel. Let people know about you and try to know about people.

Speak and connect with the right people. That’s the beauty of communication in life.

When we speak to the right people with similar interests, it will lead to a better conversation. We get to know more about the world and people. Healthy communication leads to a change in the thoughts and perceptions of people. It will open up new avenues for a better life.  It is always good when we speak to the right people at the right time.

So be Expressive!

Earning Success the Hard Way

Magic

I want to earn success the hard way. I want to go there, give my heart in whatever I’m doing. I want to give my best creation with utmost dedication.

I don’t want a shortcut to success. I want to go there, toil myself, learn more and do what I love.

I want to write more. I want to create magic in my writings. When people read my posts, they should witness magic and feel a satisfaction of reading something valuable. I want to be a good writer by the hard way. I want to improve day by day.

I’m not a son of a millionaire. I’m not a superman. But I’m a very ordinary person and I want to earn success by working my ass off.

I want to earn success the hard way,

I want to create magic in my writings,

I want to give my heart into my writings,

I want the magic in my writings to reach people,

I want to be a good writer through the hard way,

Writing this post from the bottom of my heart.

My Mystery Lady

Love Love Love

Love Love Love (Photo credit: Gregory Jordan)

Penning these words for my mystery lady,
Remembering the day one I saw you here,
Standing silently beside me like a stranger,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Thinking about something that I never knew,
Pretending as if you never looked at me,
Giving me no clue,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Seeing my mystery lady after three months,
Feeling a burst of newborn emotions,
Telling myself that the lady is special,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Meeting my mystery lady face to face,
Blocking her way unknowingly,
Looking at each others’ eyes,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Moving in opposite directions,
Pausing for a matter of purpose,
Turning and looking behind at each other simultaneously,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Seeing my mystery lady after a week,
Walking past her quickly,
Overtaking her intentionally,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Waiting for my mystery lady at the same place,
Wearing contrasting colors of attire,
Looking at each others’ eyes passionately,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Penning these words for my mystery lady,
Watching you again like the day one I saw you here,
Standing silently beside me like my love,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

If I Could Erase my Memories

Lonely tree at ocean edge

I wish to be a weathered rock
That withstood the test of time and nature.
If I could erase my memories…

I wish to be a homeless kid,
Who didn’t know the meaning of an orphan.
If I could erase my memories…

I wish to be a migratory bird
That didn’t know the existence of its nest.
If I could erase my memories…

I wish to be an old tree
That didn’t know its age.
If I could erase my memories…

I wish to be a prisoner,
Who didn’t know his crime.
If I could erase my memories…

I wish to be an artificial satellite
That lost track of its orbit.
If I could erase my memories…

Letting the Moment to Pass

Letting the moment to pass.

It sounds so easy to read the above line. Sounds so easy! But at times, it is the most difficult thing to do.

To let the moment to pass. When you have no control of your thoughts and heart, it is not so easy to let this moment pass by. But you have to let the moment pass by as there is no other go.

It is like tying your legs to a tree and asking you to run,

It is like tying your thoughts to a tree and asking you think,

It is like tying your emotions to a tree and asking you to react,

It is like tying your words to a tree and asking you to speak.

It is like tying your Anoop

A Man Admits it Openly

They say that men submerge their feelings,
It’s true to the core from men’s perspective,
For a change, let a man admit his feelings openly,
Here are the feelings of a man who isn’t afraid of opening himself up.

Yes, he doesn’t like to shed a tear in front of others,
Yes, he pretends to be strong although he is broken,
Yes, he does foolish things and makes mistakes,
Yes, he forgets many things unknowingly.

Yes, he doesn’t think much and make things complex,
Yes, he loves sports, video games, gadgets, machines, technology and action,
Yes, he focuses on only one task at a time and does it clean,
Yes, he is lazy and hates to clean his room.

Yes, he is careless and loves hanging out with his friends,
Yes, he loves his beard and hates to shave his beard,
Yes, he doesn’t imagine things like women,
Yes, he is practical and logical.

Yes, he is also a human being with emotions and feelings,
Yes, he has a hell lot of rebellion and turmoil going inside him,
Yes, he is clueless at times
Yes, he has his own likes, dislikes, ambitions and hopes,

Yes, ‘She’ makes him weak,
Yes, ‘She’ makes him cry,
Yes, ‘She’ makes him strong,
Yes, ‘She’ makes him smile,

Yes, he thinks about ‘Her’ round the clock,
Yes, he is mad about ‘Her’,
Yes, he craves to see ‘Her’,
Yes, he dies to listen to hear ‘Her’ voice.

Yes, he will do anything to make ‘Her’ smile,
Yes, he will keep up his promise for ‘Her’,
Yes, he allows her to pursue ‘Her’ dreams,
Yes, he is happy to let ‘Her’ go if she wants to,

Yes, he is ready to forget ‘Her’ if it is required,
Yes, he finds it hard to move on,
Yes, he knows that he can’t forget ‘Her’,
Yet still, he will forget ‘Her’…

Broken Words

Trying to describe the moment of despair felt by two people,
Living in two different corners of the world,
Trying to describe the silence between the two people,
Carrying the burden of shattered memories,
Those unsaid words, those broken words…

Trying to visualize the meeting between two people,
Looking into their eyes for one last time,
Trying to feel the emotions communicated between the two people,
Holding their hands for one last time,
Those final words, those broken words…
